Tasting Notes: Appearance - A rich rose-gold hue, with good head. Aroma - Massive up front fruit with strong freshly crushed grain. Passionfruit and lychees predominate with a stonefruit undertone - fruit salad on weetbix. Grassiness from three Nelson hop varieties compliment the fruit to give an aroma reminiscent of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but the grunt in the palate leaves you in no doubt that this is a very serious beer. Body & Mouthfeel - Very smooth with a gorgeous lingering finish. Delicious burps.

Amber color, bit hazy, small frothy head, awesome lacing. Sweet and fruity in aroma. Passionfruit especially easy to notice, but aroma itself is definitely not intense enough. Taste is not surprisingly all about passion fruit. Typical characteristic notes of this fruit. Beer is fresh, crisp, refreshing. Very drinkable, quite pleasant.

Pours a copper gold with a dense offwhite head. Citrus and caramel aromas. Touch of honey. Flavours are a mix of caramel and grapefruit. A bitter finish, balanced between sweet and dry. Some astringency lingers in the mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle. Clear red copper, off-white foam settles and mostly vanishes. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel malt and tropical fruity hop. Taste is lightly toasted caramel malt, lightly bitter herbal floral hop, faintly fruity. Softer than average carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. Gets fruitier as it warms, tropical even, some citrus, slightly vinous. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2014 On tap @ Brew Craft Beer Pub, Rotorua. Also bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma has grapefruit/citrus, hints of grass. Clear, copper coloured with a medium head. The taste is slightly toasty malty, has grapefruits, some grass, some flowers. Okay.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2016 The mainline brew from a growing craft brewer that definitely delivers the goods. Is even better delivered direct from the brewery!

330ml bottle. More reminiscent of an English style pale ale rather than an APA with a sweet caramel malt base and a moderate floral hop bitterness. There are traces of stone and tropical fruits but nothing like like the more hoppy APAs. Copper-amber appearance with medium off-white head. I get none of the advertised grassy vinous elements.
