From bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a beige head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma has coffee and lightly roasted malts. Taste has a gentle sweetness, roasted malts, just a hint of smoke, coffee. Medium mouthfeel.

12 oz Bottle. Appearance is dark caramel color with tons of foamy, beige head. Aroma is roasted grains, sugar, raisins, and citrus. Taste is similar with lots of dark fruit sweetness, caramel, followed on a citrus hop bitterness - also very acidic. Palate is light-bodied, thin texture, lively carbonation, and semi-dry finish. Iím not sure what Iím missing with this one, but it just didnít sit well with me. Too acidic. Flavors contradictory and all over the map. I felt like it was trying to do too much.

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is slight citrus, lemon and toffee. Body is medium With low carbonation. Taste begins quite sweet like molasses which turns into some citrus. Finish is quite big and ends with a coffee bitterness coupled with some nutty hints. Hops come to life as it gets warmer with grapefruit and some mango appearing. Had this back to back with Samuel smiths nut brown. This definetly had much more bolder flavours with more hop character coming through. Nice beer!

On draft. Nice malty, coffee aroma. Deep brown color, nice tan head with pretty lacing. Donít really taste the hops, but maybe itís a subtle edge to the maltiness that balances really well. Creamy. Coffee after taste. Nice beer.

Roasted malt and coffee flavor. Creamy mouthful and not much of a hops presence. Pretty good brown ale.

Aroma is an interesting cappuccino up front with some brown sugar and roasted malt when you explore it further. No hops at all in the scent; strange for dogfish head. Very pretty brown color with a light tan head of foam. Tastes roasty, slightly hoppy and sweet. Has a lot in common with a scotch ale but has more brown sugar, rather than malt sweetness. Has an interesting creme brûlée quality about it. This was good; I feel it is a bit overrated. Perhaps the brown ale category isn't packed with great beers so this one dominates. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown pour from draft at lumpys in Antioch. Choclate and nutty. I change my mind each sip on how much I like it. Overall it's pretty good

bottle from kihoskh. rare event that i get to rate a bottle with 2000+ ratings on it. clear dark amber nutty bruwn.aroma is like really good belgian quad, raisins, dark dried fruits, faint nutty note, malts, but also below the complexity a dose of us hops that gives a sweet sawdusty base to the aroma. Really cool aroma. Flavor is also very complex, malts, roasted malts, spices, some undefined raisin like but also sweet flavor, candi suger perhaps, lots of hops, flavor is more brown aleish than quad ish. this is a very, very good brown ale for sure.

Bottle into snifter. Very dark ruby brown almost black. Thin head. Almost no aroma which is a disappointment. Some mild malty biscuit aroma and taste. Mild sweet caramel notes. Full mouthfeel and flavor. Smooth. Decent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
