Commercial Description:
Mainly available bottled (bottle conditioned). Occasionally in cask.
Ingredients: Pale Malt (mix of Pipkin, Maris Otter and Halcyon), crystal and amber malt. Goldings hops.
First brewed in 1995 for the 150th anniversary of the brewery.
Winner of CAMRA Champion Bottle Conditioned Beer of Britain (1998-1999). Described by Roger Protz as 'a rich beer with a fruit cake aroma, spices and nutmeg from malt and hops resulting in a dry, fruity finish'.

Bottle. Reddish brown with a creamy head. Aroma and flavour of malt, hops, spice and fruit.

It was ok. The smell had me a bit worried, as it smelled sickly sweet and of lots of molases. Luckily it didn’t actually taste like its aroma. Overrated beer.

Appearance: Redish brown. Nice amount of head. Aroma: Fruity, orangy. Vinous. Taste: Vinous, malty but fresh. Dry, bitter aftertaste. Info: 500ml bottle, 20/9-2006, 96/500

Bottle.WOW, This should not even be Legal! UNREAL! English Strong are just that. A real pleasure to behold. I do prefer to drink this out of a proper pint glass.

I may have to take back my lack of love for English beers. This is a nice English strong ale/old ale style. Really creamy. Malty. Good one.
