rustychiles (213), Mesa, Arizona, USA May 15, 2008 Pours a hazy golden orange color with a nice soapy head. Aroma of hops, citrus, pine and malt. Flavor is hops, pine, a little malt, and it all comes together well until the finish. There’s something herbal and unexpected in the finish with this one that makes it unique from a lot of other similar iipas. Hophead_Josh (2), Oakland, California, USA does not count May 15, 2008 The Green Flash Brewer never has been known to go easy on the hops, so you can expect this DIPA to really pack a hoppy punch. It pours with less of a head than I’d like but boasts a creamy texture just short of divine. The hops are less complex than some other DIPA craft beers, but the intensity of Summit hops is like a brick to the face. A wonderfully aromatic and delicious brick to the face, that is. Styles (1611), Taylor, Michigan, USA May 14, 2008 Courtesy of a few different ratebeerians. Dark golden, minimal head. Aroma has a nice floral and pine character up front, but rather weak after that. Flavor much the same, nice balance of floral, citrus, pine, not awhole lot of malt character at all. Re-rate coming soon as I have another bottle. blipp (449), Buffalo/Rochester, New York, USA May 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Hoppy aroma with pine needles, citrus rind and caramel. Medium smooth body. Flavor is again hoppy with notes of pine needles and a very noticeable taste of marijuana. Short finish. The West Coast IPA is better. chicagodri (332), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 13, 2008 Pours a copper color with a thin off white head. Nice grapefruit and pine aromas with a little bit of a sweet aroma as well. Great flavor, great hop bitterness, and some sweet malt in order to try to balance the hop flavor. Fantastic beer, I was impressed. Hides the 9% ABV very well.
