Even in 1895, Porter was brewed from the mountain spring in Löbau, and it was a beloved drink in the Lausitz. With our Lausitzer Porter, we successfully continue this brewing tradition. Clear, dark brown colored, small off white head. Aroma is of green apple, cardboard, some caramel and sugar. Taste is medium+ sweet sugar, corny, some caramel and cardboard but mostly just sugary water. Light+ bodied, soft carbonation, watery.

Poured from 500ml bottle in Berlin, Germany. Clear, dark toffee brown with a thin khaki head and very good lacing. Why is a porter clear?!! That's not a good omen. Aroma of sweet toffee, sweet dried dark fruit and maple-flavored cane-sugar pancake syrup. Taste of sweet malt, medicine, sweet dried dark fruit and maple-flavored cane-sugar pancake syrup. Medium body and medium/low carbonation. This reminds me of a malt soda pop I had once. As such, it would be OK. As a beer, it is dreadful. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap (Sky Bar, Köpenick, Berlin). Clear dark chestnut color. Huge size, off-white head, stays. Sour, fruity, raspberry and touch of paper in aroma. Sweet, marzipan, caramel, paper in taste. Some kind of funky dry side taste. Can’t quite recognize what it is, but it disturbs me. Not sure if I want to drink it again.

The malt beer of porters - I like it. A gentle sweetness that gradually goes over to a more dry porter. The aftertaste is not revolutionary but it is different and a beer worth tasting.

50cl bottle from some random Spätkauf in Berlin. Malty aroma with notes of dark fruits, caramel and hints of dark berries and chocolate. Medium sweet with moderate flavour intensity and a light bitterness. Quite drinkable, but hardly interesting. Fair enough.

Weak aroma, Brown, clear, too sweet, too thin, long overwhelming sweet finish, not a porter at all or really terrible one

Bottle - Clear reddish brown colour, small, diminishing bubbly beige head. Sweet toffee nose with some sugar, candy and toasted malts. Tase is too sweet with a lot of caramel, sugar and maple syrup. Medium body, moderate carbonation, syrupy texture andunbalanced sweet finish. Not so bad, but its not a porter.
