Brewed only once a year with fresh hops hand-picked in Longmont, CO and Warrior hops straight off the vine from Yakima, WA.
Warrior is brewed using a unique style called “Wet Hopping,” which requires only hops that are no more than a day from the vine. “Wet Hopping” imparts only a mild aroma, but an exceptionally fresh unfiltered hop flavor.

(Rating #6835)

BBD 1/13/16. Clear amber pour with a dark ruby cast. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention. Outstanding nose of orange and light pine over biscuit coupled with a bit of earthy spice. Light body with a texture similar to that of water but coupled with an outstanding oily slickness. Superb carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish. The flavor profile is very good. This is a hop flavor focused beer with moderate bitterness that is balanced with toasty biscuit and caramel. Like the nose, orange dominates with pine and spicy elements in the background. Along with moderate bitterness in the middle, caramel makes a strong appearance. The finish is semi-dry and a hint of alcohol astringency arrives over a lingering slightly sweet rind/pine bitterness.

Bomber. Pours copper with a big fluffy off-white head that has good retention. Aroma of wet pine needles and a trace of fresh grapefruit. The taste, likewise, is more piney that citrusy and set in a light caramel malt base that is slightly sweet. The palate is medium, finishes sweet. Overall: Very easy drinking IPA, good stuff.

22oz bottle pour from home with a best by date of 1/13/16 (one week from review). Pours a light reddish color with nice fluffy head. A solid beer...not bad...but not mind blowing either.

Draught @ Albion. Clear dark orange with small frothy off-white head, very faint malt aroma, low carbonation, bitter lemon peel taste, long bitter finish. Very much citrus dominated.

650ml fresh hop. Huge fresh hop smell, gorgeous red amber pour. Really amazingly beautiful beer. Tastes well balanced, rich hop flavor builds and rolls on your tongue. Really exceptional.

Bottle. Pours a transparent light orange with foamy off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid too; fresh Warrior hops with a pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel.

Bomber from the brewery. Pours almost clear bright copper with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like grapefruit hops, caramel malt, some resin, nutty, toasted. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like caramel malt, grapefruit hops, toasted nuts, and some resin.

Bottle. Pours clear gold. Aroma is caramel and bready malts, floral notes, citrus, and faint toasted color. Flavor is dry and deliciously hoppy with a sharp citrus and piney bite and faint caramel malt sweetness. Medium body.

Poured from a coupla bombers (@5.99 each), looks reddish with a one finger white collar. This has got a little bit of a lot of things but nothing jumps up and takes the lead. Some sticky resin, pine, average to good alcohol content, metallic, dry, and a bit creamy. Was just looking for more from the hops.
