20061007 Bottle shared after Kennett. Smoky up front with a mess of odd notes to follow - bandaid, mint, herbal (bitters). Dry. A strange flavor that i can’t place but reminds of Lefty’s food. The earthy malts come through throughout. A unique beer worth trying once.

Pours a deep clear brown with and enormous frothy and bubbly off-white head. Aroma is naturally smoky, a little peaty in character. There is a light spiciness about as well. Okay, and rather frothy mouthfeel. Flavour is dominated by the peaty smoky maltiness as well as a bit of coffee/tobacco dryness. Not the most powerful smoked - and therefore rather acceptable.

Bottle courtesy of omhper. Pours brown with a creamy white head. Smells of pronounced smoke and boozy. Tastes of liquid smoke, some underlying bitterness. Nice, but the smoke seems a bit forced and not backed up by enough malt.

On tap at Bishops arms in gävle, on November 28, 2007. Pours deep mahogany colored body with a light brown creamy head. The aroma is dominated by smoke, both smoked food and wood smoke with the former more noticeably. The taste is for malt but above all else smoke both the food kind and the wood kind. The finish is long, dry and smoky. A nice beer, can’t wait to try the other beers from Närke.

50 cL bottle, thanks to sk8viking/Grovlam. Pours with a nice clear amber colour and a huge, huge and light orange head. Heavy smoked tar and slight fruity aroma. Flavour is slight meady and smoked leather. Like a summer at a small fishing boat habour, fantastic smoked. Very very nice. One of the best smoked ever.
