gottalottaibu (207), charlotte, North Carolina, USA May 11, 2008 golden pour with a nice head. hoppy aroma. flavor was nicely balanced. nice hop profile with a hint of bitterness in the finish. hops are not as huge as the description says but overall very balanced drinkable ipa. soulgrowl (51), Kitakyushu-shi, Japan May 7, 2008 Aroma: Surprisingly low on hops. Nose is primarily a pleasant, sweet character, like butter cream and caramel. It’s actually incredibly sweet, especially for an IPA, but still enticing and subtle.
Appearance: Honey-amber, slightly hazy body with parchment-colored, fleeting, fizzy head.
Flavor: This is very well-balanced. I prefer my IPAs to be heavier on the hops, but this is good nonetheless. Nutty malts with a fruity sweetness, and leafy/lettuce-ish hops. Tasty!
Palate: Mild and fairly light, a good halfway point between slick and crisp.
Overall: Nearly sessionable, and potentially a good crossover beer. ccoburn (13), Leawood, Kansas, USA May 6, 2008 Pours amber with quarter inch head. Aroma of Grapefruit and cotton candy. Tastes hoppy but a bit watered down on the malt side. Lacks body from it all. Bitterness is all and well but the actual malt is lacking. Not that it’s a bad beer, I’m glad I tried it but I probably wouldn’t buy a bottle again. Lothore (205), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a nice orangey color with a very small head which fades quickly.
S- Smell is sweet with hints of piney hops.
T- Taste starts of sweet and malty and moves into a load of piney hops and considerable hop bitterness. Not a particularly complex or exciting IPA but it is solid none the less.
M- Medium viscosity and a good amount of carbonation.
D- This is a solid little IPA and I could drink quite a few in a session. I love to try new IPAs that hold water, the last few IPAs I have tasted sucked so this is a welcome relief.
jjpm74 (2534), Connecticut, USA Apr 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours a hazy copper with a rocky white head. Smells of tea, citrus, touches of pine. Tastes of earthy malt, pine, light spice. Nice.
