Excellent beer, pours with a good thick head, nice mouthfeel in the glass.
Can’t remember too much of the taste as this was quite a while ago but extremely enjoyable, plenty of flavour and hold it’s strength very well.
Dangerously drinkable! Linus_Stick (1345), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 3, 2008 A great Belgian strong and the best I’ve had from this brewer. Aroma was just so so. Earth, spice and dark fruit. Pour was a nice dark amber/light brown with a good bit of sediment. Taste was very good. Strong berry and spice with a nice spicy aftertaste. I would never guess this was 10% Very nice carbonation. As the beer warms, more fruit flavor comes out. White grape and pear mostly. Very complex and delicious. radagast83 (1000), Springfield, Virginia, USA Apr 29, 2008 750 ml bottle, 2005 bottle drunk April 2008. Pours a brown color with a small tan head. Aroma is alcohol, spices, pines, earth, and something akin to sweet sugar candy. Flavor is about the same, brown sugars dominate, caramel, spice, and malt with notes of cherries. blutt59 (309), dallas, Texas, USA Apr 27, 2008 bottle, brown color with nice tan head, overpowering alcohol taste with some cotton candy thrown in, could not taste any of the spices really due to the upfront alcohol bite MatSciGuy (98), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Apr 23, 2008 [bottle] Burnt caramel pour with a smallish tan head. Piney, earthy, spicy aroma. Medium to heavy mouthfeel. Flavor is brown sugar, caramel, spices, and some tart cherries in there as well.
