YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Apr 21, 2008 Brown with a bubbly ecru head. Aroma of malt with a touch of blackberry. Fruity flavor. A forgettable beer.
emacgee (848), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 19, 2008 Pours a reddish brown. Sweet syrupy aroma. Grainy, caramel, not a nice mix. the flavor is similar, muddled fruit and malt. Not one i would go for again. Dogbrick (2011), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 24, 2008 Bottle from Party Source. This beer pours a mostly clear ruby/brown color with a medium thin off-white head that has decent retention. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma similar to the packets of mixed berry jelly you find at finer restaurants. Touches of earthy malt in the nose as well. Medium-bodied with tart blueberry and peat flavors, along with some grainy malt. The finish is fruity and soft, with a mildly bitter aftertaste that lingers awhile. Overall this beer did not really do much for me. patrick767 (1312), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 21, 2008 bottle - Pours a reddish color with a one finger head. The aroma is of sweet malt and berries. The flavor has ample berries in it, I wouldn’t call it "a hint" of berries. but the malt character of a Scottish ale is definitely present too. This sweet, medium bodied beer is a solid session brew. Maybe it’s because I’m already a fan of Scottish ales, I think the combination works alright here. It’s interesting. kseecs16 (417), Westmont, Illinois, USA Feb 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours a crimson ruby with a thin off-white head and nice lacing. Pristinely clear with a slight effervescence. A beautiful looking beer. Some blackberry in the aroma, mostly toasted malt. Malts dominate the flavor with subdued hints of blackberry that linger in the after taste. Full creamy palate.
