Yves (161), Beerse, Belgium May 11, 2008 Reddish coloured beer with small white head. Sour aroma. Little sour palate. Finish is bit sour and herby. bsierra (107), Vista, California, USA May 4, 2008 Poured a medium dark red with a medium pink color head with average retention. Aroma of cherries is overpowering and mostly comprised of syrup but some classic Rodenbach sourness is also noticeable. Taste is at first very similar to some of the other Belgian syrupy beer around with a not so enjoyable chemical aftertaste but I did noticed that toward the ends there is some of the Rodenbach taste I have been accustomed to. Overall, I believe this to be a classic Rodenbach with some added chemical syrup which render the experience more or less enjoyable.
oh6gdx (4757), Vaasa, Finland Apr 30, 2008 Bottled. Slightly hazy ruby red colour with mediumsized reddish-white head. Aroma is sour cherries, some wood and mild herbal notes. Flavour is bit sweeter cherries with some wooden hints, as well as paperyness. Aftertaste is cherries, some sourness and wood. refreshing. demitriustown (560), Macomb, Michigan, USA Apr 25, 2008 11.2 oz bottle: Pours a cloudy dark reddish amber color with a small tin of red head that lingers. Aroma is slight bit of cherries, rustic, and a scent similar to a lambic. Taste is kind of off and medicinal in my honest opinion. I can taste the sour cherries in the aftertaste, but this one I think has been sitting on the shelve for too long. and yes it does taste reminiscent of a jolly rancher. Cheers! egajdzis (2811), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 11, 2008 [BB 11/06] Poured a clear red bown color with a thin ring of light tan bubbles, no lacing on the glass. Aroma of sour cherries, light vinegar, and a bit of oak. Taste of more sweet cherries up front, close to cloying, with some wood, cardboard, and a ripe acidic - sour cherry taste in the finish.
