Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Super easy to drink the flavor is not the most memorable but its enjoyable with a nice balance. Its not the greatest beer in the world but i might pick it up again. Perhaps the style is a touch bland for my tastes

12oz. Pours clear amber with a white head that leaves quickly. Nose is a bit subdued, but shows some dried cherries and caramel. Body shows some more caramel, a bit of honey, some earl grey tea, and of course some bitter lemon rind from the hops. Palate is very good with a certain amount of viscosity and dry finish. Some lager-like properties when the finish lingers. A good beer.

Pours slightly cloudy orange color, with a malty aroma and loose head. Taste is slightly malty, tasted a little watered down. Not my favorite, but something I would buy again. Goes great with pork chops

Poured orangish-brown from a bottle with a thin head. Malty aroma, very light taste. Not very memorable, and somewhat expensive.
