CaptainCougar (4426), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 18, 2007 On tap at Fette Sau on 9/14/07: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly smoked swet caramel malt. Body starts fairly full and caramely malty sweet with a touch of earthy bittering hops. Fairly well-balanced and authentic. PilsnerPeter (1169), Flushing, New York, USA Oct 3, 2007 Tap at Barcade: Deep amber pour with a creamy tan head that fades. The aroma is mainly sweet, bready and toasted malts with only a hint of smoke. The smoke leans toward dried wood character. The body has loose carbonation, and a solid malt character. Has lots of bready sweetness and an underlying sourdough suggestion. The smoke comes through in the finish, and leans toward a wood flavor. This stuff has great malt depth and the style attempt was very well executed, but I just need more smoke! kp (5666), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 02/10/2007

hazy amber, creamy off white head, smoked ham aroma, lots of smoked flavor balanced by rich caramel malt with only a hint of sweetness, nice light bitter finish, all smoke with nothing much else besides balance going on, but the smoke is very well done

goldtwins (3556), Nesconset, New York, USA Aug 27, 2007 Tap @ Fette Sau. Dark orange amber with off-white head. The aroma and flavor are malty and toasty with caramel. The smoke is light and smooth but decent. The BBQ might be hiding it. would like more smoke but good. fiulijn (5300), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jul 24, 2007 Draught at Ginger Man, 36th NYC Dark amber color; creamy head. The aroma has some salame smokeyness (strange). Good malty body, sweet, with sweet caramel and nice, light smoked. Pleasant.
