puzzl (1529), New York, New York, USA May 12, 2008 Bottled. I actually rather enjoyed this one. The fruit works well with the firm, wheaty flavors of the malt. Cherry sweetness but not too much. Very drinkable. MrManning (1340), London, Ontario, Canada May 7, 2008 Nose of sour cherries and musty wet barn. Cream soda and muted malts. Pours a deep pink/red with a frothy off white cap. Tastes of overly sweet cherries and cream soda, sugary candy and a bit of hay. This beer needs more tartness, acidity, and a lot less risidual sugar towards the end, as it finishes cloying and becomes a chore to drink. Bottle courtesy of MDS, thanks Mike! heemer77 (3282), North Liberty, Iowa, USA May 7, 2008 Bottled, the body is dark copper with a light tan head. The aroma is light blueberries with some dark bread. There is also some cantalope melon. The taste is like cranberries baked into some sweet bread. There is also a little bit of bread crust. BorksBabe (43), Tampa, Florida, USA May 2, 2008 VERY thick head that laces the glass. Not much to the aroma, and a very bitter taste. Reminds me of sweet tarts that have been soaked in lemon juice and vinegar. Yuck. Not good. Only to be consumed while watching Japanese Hentai and eating sushi. beerbill (1069), Laurel, New York, USA Apr 30, 2008 With apolgies to Cream, what a Strange Brew. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate off-white head that faded to a dense film after a few sips and coated the glass with each sip. Light aroma of malt and a few whisps of cherry. The flavor begins with some sweet malt, which is followed up with some fairly tart sour cherry. This is kind of like a cherry lambic hybrid. The tartness of the sour cherries lingers in the aftertaste well beyond the swallow. An interesting experiment, but its probably not something I’d go back to.
