gueuze_is_god (42), Graham, North Carolina, USA May 8, 2008 Updated: May 11, 2008Pours like a pils, was brilliantly clear, one finger stark-white head that collapses. Looked in the bottle to see the yeast sediment was firmly compacted on the bottom. Smells yeasty, lemony and sour. The taste is so much bigger than you would assume, great lactic-like(?) sourness, underlying hop bitters and good coriander/curacao spiciness. The first sip hit me like a ton of bricks, I wasn’t expecting that. It really is a ’double white’ - very skillfully brewed and downright delicious. Only downside is the collasping head, needs to be more proteiny and linger awhile. Do try it.
PWalk (328), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2008 Heavy yeast aroma when first poured producing a thick white pillow of foam on top. Standard witbier flavor and easy drinking. MrChopin (49), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 strong wheat scent with hints of of citrus. flavor follows. Actually, while beer is drinkable, it’s kind of uninspiring.
