Pwn3d (473), Connecticut, USA Apr 21, 2008 12oz bottle. Pour is light brown with a bronze tint, diminishing white head atop. Aroma is of malt, vanilla, with a slight milky feel. Mouth is dry malts, caramel, earthy, maple syrup, vivacious carbonation, and finishes rather floral. Medium to Light bodied, but full flavored and ripe in carbonation. Seemed dark for an Alt, tasted more like an English Ale offering. Excellent overall, Its drinkablity is incredible in relation to its flavor. jcr (742), Jasper, Indiana, USA Apr 20, 2008 Bottle. Dark copper pour with a nice, but dminishing off-white head. Malty, yeasty nose of bread, sweet caramel, dough and light grassy hops. The flavor is more sweet than bitter, but does finish with a light bite. Medium body and watery texture. Plenty of carbonation. Slightly sticky at the end. Not the strongest Southampton beer I’ve had. Could take or leave it. checkmatei1 (163), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 7, 2008 Draft: Poured a dark red color with not a ton of head. The aroma was earthy tones with grass and lemon present. The flavor was a bit malty and a bit sweet. Overall, this is not a beer I could drink a lot of and actually I didn’t like very much. hoplover406 (173), Syracuse, New York, USA Apr 6, 2008 Bottle. Deep mahogany brown with thin strip of bubbles lining the rim of the galss. Not really a head per se. Malty aroma with some grassy hops. A bit dry, slightly bitter on the finish. Lively carbonation. OK SpudClampDawg (836), Jasper, Indiana, USA Apr 4, 2008 12oz bottle: Pours a deep crimson and brown. Sweet honey and fresh bread nose, with a touch of lemony hops taboot. Fizzy, light body is slightly tart to start. The malts are a bit muddled from here, offering only light notes of sweet toffee and butterscotch. Drinks clean, but nothing really special here.
