KieferUGA (222), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours a murky yellow. Thin, white head. Aroma of citrus hops, honey, spices. Flavor is a bit spicy, with hints of bananas and clove. Finish is overwhelmingly warm alcohol. Ober (127), Best, Netherlands May 10, 2008 A clear yellow/golden colored beer, with a very nice foamed head. An aroma of hop, malt and some spices. Also notes of flowers. The taste from hop bitter, very tastefull, and a little spicey and fruity. A very good beer. dmradus (219), Syracuse, New York, USA May 7, 2008 Opaque orange-yellow, large two-finger small bubble head that lasts considerably. Nice nose: lots of spice in clove and pepper, some alcohol, slightly floral and lemon - prototypical tripel aroma taken to a nice high octave. Spicy yeast is most noticeable characteristic in the taste, with clove and some lemon and grassy, floral tones. End-palate is off-puttingly alcoholic to the point of fusel-like notes, also some spiciness from the alcohol...but all alcohol in the finish. Dry, spicy, grassy aftertaste. High carbonation but maintains very nice, thick mouthfeel. ilovedarkbeer (655), Dallas, Texas, USA May 5, 2008 Pours a cloudy yellowish brown color with a nice creamy medium sized white head. Nose is apple pie, spice, sugar, clove, and dark fruits. Taste is spicy and satly, somewhat like a tripel but more drinkable. Nice warming finish. High carbonation. Pretty good. BMan1113VR (503), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA May 5, 2008 Pours with a big, creamy white head that leaves lots of lacing and has good retention. It covers a hazy golden-brown body. Aroma is rich in spicey hops, clove, raisins, mandrin oranges, and plenty of yeast. Spicey Belgian hop taste with quite a lot of yeast in the finish and aftertaste. Beer-pagne levels of carbonation.
