Batch 142. bottled on: 17/06/13. Pours thick black, very minimal head that disappears quickly. Sweet rich dark chocolate and coffee aroma, not getting the chilli and vanilla as much as i’d thought. Chilli may accompany the alcohol burn a little. Nice and thick syrupy Imp. stout.

Dog B batch. Bottle from Pivoteka Zagreb, thanks Vi?nja666! Pitch black, almost no head. Nose aroma: leather, vanilla, red peppers, spicy, roasty, coffee. Begins with a overwhelming coffee, alcohol bite, vanilla, dry fruits. Sweet and dry. Very complex and full body. Spices and alcohol in the finish. Very complex.

330 ml bottle in cardboard box, as BrewDog Dog A, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 15.1%. Pitch black colour, low brown head. Intense aroma of vanilla, molasses, oak, fusel alcohols, coffee, liquorice and chili. Moderate carbonation. Intense roasty flavour, quite sweet, loads of coffee, vanilla, liquorice and molasses. A nice warming throatfeel from the chili. Not easy drinking, but fairly impressive.

100ml sample at Hanshin Dept Store. L: jet black, no head, like syrup. A few tiny bubbles. S: Rich roasted chocolate malt. So much dark chocolate. T: boozy, like bourbon, but with dense malt and chocolate. More bitter than sweetness. F: slight carbonation, coats the throat and lips, full-bodied. O: decent sipper, I like my stouts a bit lighter and more complex. The supposed chili didn’t really come through like how it works in Prairie Bomb.

Bottle. Aroma of roastwd malts, coffee, chocolate, licorice, dried fruits and vanilla. In taste sweet, syrupy, dull bodied, oily. Smooth and silky on the palate with solid bitterness and warming from alcohol in the finish. I do not detect chilli in beer. Great beer.

maledictum (733) - Pyongyang, NORTH KOREA - JUL 12, 2015
The beer poured black. Its head was small and brown. Aroma had pepper, chillies, roasted malts and coffee. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, chocolate, pepper, sweetness, chilli, hops, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was peppery, roasty and bitter. A very tasty combination of chilli peppers and imperial stout with coffee in the background.
