UlrikNissen (13), Denmark May 16, 2008 Good looking with a good head. Almost tasteless, very watery and with almost no aroma.
This one was bought as a 640ml bootle in Hong Kong. bodo111 (12), a, Texas, USA Feb 19, 2008 HA, not sure of the abilty of Hong Kong brewers but i tried some of this at an airport lounge one time and well....... the best thing i can say about it is that it was cold. mgoy (330), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Feb 8, 2008 Blue Ice Beer is a fun beer to order at a sushi bar, but nothing more. There is very little taste in this watery european strong ale. JorisPPattyn (4922), Antwerpen, Belgium Jan 9, 2008 Produced by S. Miguel Thailand, at least my can... Gushing (!) to huge, very dense white head, leaving lace over golden beer. Surprisingly, very outspoken fruity aroma’s, if quite volatile: (canned) pineapple, peaches. Definitely something funky-fruity, suggesting sourness - too strange for words... Blue Ice??? Solvent flavour, wood extract, again pineapple (ester). It’s got something wine-like, like in old, oxydized wines, NOT oxydized malts or beer. But of course pretty pale, near insipid, certainly as long as ice-cold. Light, near watery, just that strange back-flavour hanging around in the palate. After some time, traces of alcoholwarming. CAN it be true? DID I find the first international mega-lager that really got infected? Whatever, I’d give my left hand, what the exact component is that I perceive - it’s the one that lends aroma to old gueuze, but also old burgundy wine. Jeez. Sampled on Flashy’s tour of LA, New Zealand and Hong Kong of September/October 2007 - An awful lager. This had absoltely no taste at all. That’s it. Raquel (1), USA does not count Oct 19, 2007 I was marooned in KL with a wierd engligh bloke and an even wierder dutch fella....i initially thought they were mad for likeing this seemingly tasteless beer....then i tried it....ahh the days went bay in a pleasant drunken haze and i have blue ice to thank for this!! THANK YOU! bower (2), England does not count Sep 28, 2007 Simply a beautiful drop of ale. From the moment the unique aroma hits you right down to the very last gulp, blue ice is a true gem in the world of beer. I had the fortunate experience of discovering blue ice in Kuala Lumpur whilst doing missionary work there, it was a treat, a true life changing moment and i feel blessed to have drunk such a monumentous beer. I say god bless blue ice and all who sail in her! oh6gdx (7472), Vasa, Finland Sep 27, 2007 Bottled (thanks tbone !). Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is harsh rice, some metal and skunkyness. Flavour is metallic, toffeeish (diacetyl), rice and oh well some sourness. Oh man oh man.
