COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Bottle@Artturi, Tampere, Finland. Strong aroma with tar, licorice. Some salty licorice and almost buttery cocoa. Pitch black color with minimal beige head. Strong taste of roasted malts, tar and licorice. Some coffee (not in bitterish way) and cocoa that softens edges. Medicorely balanced. Wide taste spectrum and long/medium aftertaste with roasted malts. Strong body with light carbonation. Overall high quality IRS with nice cocoa implementation which unfortunately takes the edge off.

I was waiting to try this one, mainly because of the name, and if it doesn’t stick to the name, I’m far from being disappointed. A nice stout, with strong aroma linked to the taste. Maybe not the best one, but easily in my top 5 of Imperial stout.

Noir goudron, quasi pas de mousse. Goût de café puis amertume. L’alcool se fait sentir sur la fin. Bon stout

Pours like old engine oil, thick and inky black. The head is amazing. The thickest deep brown head ever. It sticks to your finger like chocolate mousse. Some upfront sweet maltiness that lingers through the whole time, eventually balanced by a bitter dark chocolate and charcoal flavour. Fascinating beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oily black, with a dark russet head. Aroma is very fragrant, alcoholic, but still with a hint of leather and olives, indicating the heavily hopped nature of the stout. Flavours of dark chocolate, vanilla and leather. Double expresso too, but not nasty, still controlled by the cocoa bitter-sweetness. Very evident booze, and a rather resinous feel to the palate. I was never a fan of the Brewdog presentation, but this bas-relief label is pretty damn cool!

Jedno z bardziej czekoladowych piw jakie piłem. Płynna czekolada moze nie tak jak w Gorge z Mikkellera ale i tak swietne

0,33L bottle, batch 247 with new lable (from Drink Shop, Tallinn). Pours black with dark brown head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is massive cocoa, vanilla, roast. Flavor is sweet, dark chocolate, vanilla, roast, coffee. Finish is dark chocolate-roast bitter with touch of alcohol. Overall: great brew.
