COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Aged Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee that has been matured in premium bourbon barrels. Considered one of the world’s most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Good to the last dropping!

The aroma is big and bold with whiskey, oak, licorice and a trace of coffee. The taste, like the aroma, is big and bold with whiskey in the forefront, but the coffee which was background in the nose, is present and delicious. The malt base is pure speedway with dark fruits, molasses, walnuts and bitter chocolates.

Mörk choklad i doften. Flytande choklad i perfekt balans med bourbon. Balans och världsklass, som så ofta med detta bryggeri. Sitter helt perfekt. Tack till Andreas.

Pours with a pitch black hued body with a large white head, great lace and some alcohol legs. Aromas are intense earthy and nutty coffee, rich chocolate, vanillin and a refined barrel character. Mild dark fruits, ash and char. Some soil and biscotti. Complex and refined. Flavors of barrel, fudge, tobacco and coffee, some nice alcohol burn (not fusel, but more a pleasant heat), nougat, char. Vanilla. Richly layered.

Pours a dense black color with a small tan head that soon recedes to a fine film.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, bourbon, wood, chocolate and light toffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with notes of vanilla, coffee and bourbon. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really, really good. Wonderful aroma.

Backlogged rating. The empty bottle is still sitting on my shelf of rare beers in the living room curio. Direct from the brewery via online pre-order. A fantastic beer in every sense; I’ve been lucky enough to try two bottles of this but yet to experience it on draft. Same fantastic oaky, bourbon-soaked coffee and chocolate aroma that follows suit with the flavor. The coffee bitterness in the flavor is much more mellow than the regular barrel-aged version. Sweet charred brown sugar, firewood, chocolate cherry and maple syrup blended in the flavor. Super smooth, velvety mouth-feel. Warming alcohol finish that rounds it all out. With a few years of age and less heat, this would be my only "5". All around a world-class imperial stout that Alesmith, yet again, has taken to a whole other level. God damn I am lucky to live in San Diego.

Flavor is dark chocolate, coffee, wood, liquor, hazelnut, roast. Finish is coffee, dark chocolate, liquor, bourbon, port wine. Lingering coffee and booze. Medium to full body, soft, velvety mouthfeel. Weak carbonation. Very awesome impy stout.
