Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is an inky black beer that pours without a head. It has very rich, powerful red fruit, currants, liquorice flavours with black cherry notes and a warming slight oak and vanilla finish.

Bottle in Italy. Pitch black pour, almost no head. Aroma is full of roasted malts, licorice, chocolate, coffee, molasses, oak, vanilla, sherry and cherries. Flavor is bitter roasted malts, spicy and with a hint of fruits. Quite boozy, but with a decent body. A bit low on carbonation. Nice brew.

Medium-light, a bit stale aroma with sweet cherry, some alcohol, plum and licorice. Dark brown-reddish color with light brown head. Strong taste with a lot of edge in the first bite (some berry). Dark chocolate, syrup, licorice. Quite earthy and bitter flavor. Very complex taste with multiple layers. Wide taste spectrum ans short-medium aftertaste with plum, licorice and some malts. Light palate with medium carbonation.

McNeillR (1122) - SCOTLAND - APR 19, 2014
Opaque black the slimmest, fading tan head. Rich molasses, boozy and brassy with sweet earthy berry. Initial taste is a cooling choc, diamond sherry sweetness before a staying oatiness. Swaddled malt, oversweet and tinny. Crackling carbonation and an oily overall mouthfeel. Finishing silky, disowning malt and a scratch of boozy sherry. Linger is similar, feathered sweet and oily lightest black pepper.

Beese (1540) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2014
The last bottle at Euston Tap, London on 28 February 2014. Poured a thick black colour with a dense, creamy, brown head. Aroma was huge; potent black cherry, molasses, black syrup and warming alcohol. Absolutely wonderful. Did not disappoint on the lips, either. Viscous mouth feel - velvet like. Strong flavours of black syrup, burnt sugar, espresso and dark chocolate. The finish is a perfect balance of sweetness and bitter, roasted malt. An almost perfect beer.
