Thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this nice imperial stout. Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has deep roast, dark chocolate, vanilla and light bourbon. It has a full body with a light amoutnt of carbonation. The flavor starts off with roast, dark fruits, figs, licorice and booze. Thje finish has some dark caramel added and more alcohol warmth. Good.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2015 Not the chocolate and coffee centric beer I was hoping for w a stout, but to be fair, my palate has been killed by hop bombs and a barrel bomb. Thx Ibrew2or3.

Still lace in pour. Chocolate and Black licorice aroma right there. Smooth mouthfeel. Licorice element good drinkability in a sample, or two, but this bomber needs sharing up to 4 ways.Aged for years and not the worse for wear.

I’m assuming this is last year’s batch. This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a black color with a slim finger’s off white to tan head. The smell starts off with milk chocolate, big and roasty and sticky sweet, meshing with roasty coffee beans. Subtle marshmallow creeps in to balance. The taste follows the smell nicely. A healthy amount of balanced roasty to sweet stickiness. Sticky sweet cocoa aftertaste runs into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a nice sessionable feel about it (guessing because of the age, this smoothed out the way it did). Overall, I liked this one for me, and am guessing it probably has more strength when fresh. Still, this was very good for what it was tonight.

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat Pours black with a big very long lasting tan head. Nose of chocolate, ripe fruit, and citrus. Full body. Creamy mouth feel. Flavor is rich and chocolate, ripe fruit, and citrus (orange), and the finish is full of fruit and coffee. Really nice beer. Very drinkable and the fact it hides the alcohol is a plus for me.

Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. A very dark beer with just a little amber. A nice dark tan head looks cool. Chocolate on the first sniffs. First sip is much more complex. Bitter fruity hops and big roasted notes to start. Licorice in the after taste. More fruit and that chocolate are tasted. This is kind of like a piano piece. Right hand is hops and fruit and the left hand is that roast, licorice, and chocolate. Lat I tasted oranges and soft pale malts that would be found in a saison. And very late a hint of cinnamon. This is a first class beer.

650ml bottle

Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, dark chocolate, coffee and some earthy grassy notes. Taste is earthy, roasty and stingy with some licorice, dark chocolate, hints of coffee and spices. Finish is roasty, sweetish and slightly syrupy with some earthiness, licorice, dark chocolate and spices. Quite heavy and earthy imperial stout.

650 ml bottle. Thanks olio! Pours a black colour with a small beige. Aroma of rich roastiness, licorice root, some toffee and dark chocolate. Flavour of very rich dark roastiness, toffee fudge, licorice root, quite heavy bitterness, wood, dark chocolate, espresso, cheese cake and a bit of spiciness. Full bodied. Very rich and smooth. Wow. Extremely well balanced. Alcohol is rather well hidden. I need more.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2015 Pours haze black color with tiny foamy light brown head, which immediately transforms itself in to a ring around the glass. Carbonation is low, with slow rising small bubbles. Aroma is without note of an alcohol, firstly slightly soapy, but immediately prevails strong note of dark chocolate, hint of coffee, caramel and soy sauce. Flavor is similar: malty sweet, with hints of caramel, coffee, with bitterness of dark chocolate and of gentle hops Galena and Saaz which produce some fruity undertones. But overall everything is almost perfectly balanced: malt sweetness is medium, also hop bitterness. Body is sticky. Overall: beer is dangerously drinkable. In the first glance it loiks like an onedimensional imperial stout, made in an English manner, but every ship reveals, that it is a more complex. And in the end I asked myself: "Was that really only 8.8%abv?!?
