COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Green Elephant is green because itís made from organic malts, and elephant because of the Amarillo, Ahtanum and organic Cascade hops. Itís medium-bodied with a subtle malt underpining and an explosive hop flavor and bitterness. Dang, the elephant is hoppy.

Draught at ACBE. Sweet malt and orange hops character, seems somewhat oxidized, bittersweet finish. OK but had higher expectations, would like to try it in mint condition.

Bottle from Darbyís Liquor, Vancouver
No dating in the bottle. Red Amber color, hazy, with compact head. Mild aroma of citrusy hops, oranges, light talc. Lean mouthfeel, light residual sweetness; but the malt flavor lacks of depth, it has just some caramel, and the hops are not bright; resiny final.
Maybe an old bottle, but since itís not dated, I blame the brewery.
Boring. I wonít buy again.

Pours amber, lots of head and lacing. Nose is sweet syrup, grapefruit, peach and earthy bitterness. Tastes medium bitter, light/medium sweet. Full sticky body with lively carbonation.

Grassy and floral hop aroma mix wit the sweet maltieness of this hazy orangish brew with a white head. A very well balanced but complex brew. I get the malty sweetness upfront with the bitterness battling through out the taste of this heavy/medium bodied brew. The hopieness is very green or grassy flavored. Seems more like an imperial ipa given the maltieness and th body.

Pours clear golden with a medium white head...heavy sheets of lacing. Aroma has grapefruit, rind, and pine. Flavor follows suit suit...very rindy and firm bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is dry and piney/resinous.

On draft. Pours bright orange with medium white head. Nose is floral; flavor is quite hoppy with only light malt. Bitter finish. Didnít think this was as good as workhorse IPA.

On tap @ Laurelwood PDX. Golden colored beer with white foam. Nice pine and citrus peel aromas. A touch of apricot and resin, too. Sweet caramel malts are quite pronounced. Hints of grass, too. Flavor is rather astringent and bitter. A ton of pine and resin...some mild papery notes. Orange peel, apricot, and sweet caramel malts. Meh.

Had this on tap at Lardo East in Portland (08.10.2014) with Erica and Matt N. Poured a dull, glossy, medium amber with a lot of head. Aroma was fresh pine and tasted of pine, some vegetable, and a bit of grapefruit. Good caramel malt flavor that gave it a soft body (not a harsh/rough IPA at all), but still full of flavor. Good beer and was perfect to wash down all the pork.

Bottle thanks to my summer secret santa. Pours a clear gold color with a big pillowy head that fades slowly and leaves good lacing. Aroma is dank, overripe citrus fruit with peaches, malt, and herbal hops. Tastes a bit harsh. The herbal hops seem to cover up the nice peach and citrus hops a bit. Caramel malt shows up in the bitter, dry finish. Pretty well made but just not the flavors I usually look for in an IPA.
