2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Didn’t have time to really look up but saw the high ratings and grabbed. Pours ugly yellowish. Nose is green apple and box wine. Tastes of green apple, vinegar, plum, hint of rice, and syrupy. More like a infused sake or wine totally not what I wanted. Kinda bullshit perhaps for people who don’t like sake.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Be prepared to have your brain melted! This saké is, as described on the bottle, very much like an Trocken Riesling, but an unfinished one. Tart is apparent in the aroma, along with Taro, green apple skin and wet stone. Very pleasant tartness is unexpected and amazing! It’s almost funny it’s so enjoyable. Green apple, silt, rich rice and gentle citrus come to mind while tasting. The palate is full yet clean; slick and warming. This is a saké to behold!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
In the voice of Yoda, "Change your mind about sake will it!". This $27.50 bottled sake from a bottle shop poured a very small sized head of medium sized clear colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a transparent clear very light yellow tinged body. The very mild soft aroma was noticeably non-vinous. The mouth feel was clear soft weakly tingly at the start and at the mild semi-thick finish. The thin vinous flavor contained notes of polished rice. Very drinkable. One of the most enjoyable sake’s I have ever had. very nice and drinkable. A wonderful best in class sake.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours with a yellow tinge of a clear body with legs. Aroma is flat out awesome, with orange blossom, brown sugar, plum, berries, syrup, honey and mead. Taste is very sweet with a tart finish. Very sweet with a like vinegar and honey aftertaste. Koji and medium fruit, Viscous mouthfeel flat. Had some problem reading my rating.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle. Aroma is fairly nondescript. For only 7-8%, it presents itself as fairly boozy. Light notes of flowers, buttered bread, tapioca. Decent. Pours a brilliant pale gold. Very bright and crisp looking. Very, very unique flavor profile... almost like a sake crossed with a green apple cider, minus the carbonation. Zero hint of alcohol on the tongue. Green apple, vanilla, butter. Not too complex, but HIGHLY drinkable. Medium bodied. Creamy, almost oily on the tongue. The finish is unexpectedly crisp and dry given the amount of sweetness and tartness on the tongue. A very, very approachable and highly quaffable Junmai.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to thedm for sharing this bottle. Clear with just a hint of yellow to it, and still. Melted butterschotch and alcohol in the nose. Sweet, lightly floral with mild alcohol. Very smooth and easy to drink. I don’t have a lot of saki’s to compare this too, but this is a really nice drink.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a light yellow tint, legs on the glass. Aroma of vanilla and light fruitiness. Sweet and fruity, tart grape, vanilla, and no alcohol what-so-ever.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2008 Rather sourish in taste, like tasting lemony sake (I’ve had it twice now and it was sourish both times so I know nothing’s wrong). The Kamoizumi Daiginjo was such a massive disappointment that I have to think that their Junmai Regular will not be any better. However, the sourness adds a complexity and a dimension of flavor that I think actually improves the sake, odd as it seems. This sake is fairly yellow in color and is low in alcohol, which makes it quite drinkable. In fact, at 8% abv, it’s almost like drinking a citrusy beer. Very nice.
