COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pitch-black color, dark brown head. Aroma is chocolate, oak, vanilla. Taste is oak, vanilla, chocolate, liquorice. Aftertaste is just phenomenal, as it stays forever. Full body with medium carbonation.

2012 vinatge. Pours a dark brown, near black...nice and lively mocha head that settles into fine lacing and a ring around the teku glass. Pretty oily, with decent legs. Aromas of oak are immediately present. Dark chocolate, roasted nuttiness and a slight note of alcohol make themselves known. Taste is loaded with bitter dark chocolates, a mild roasted body coupled with notes of vanilla and oak. A nice bitter finish is accompanied by more oak impressions, along with bitter chocolate...almost pushing coffee notes across my palate. Very nice and smooth, minimal alcohol is noticeable. Great imperial stout...medium-heavy body...lively carbonation. Nice balance.

Aroma of dense: caramel, coco, a little liqorice, bit of coffee, slight toasted oak, some noble like hops little bit of dark fruit and ester yeast character. Bottled only less than a month ago. Roast chocolate, grainy espresso, caramel. Rich oily buttery, dense chocolate, ash coffeeish roast on the end. Bit of booze, some planty hops, piney/ grapefruit? bitter.

Pours a black like oil, with the same type of viscosity, khaki colored head, light and foamy. Oak, chocolate, vanilla, and plenty of roasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with roast and oak.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with retentive tan head. Aromas of acidic black coffee, dark sweet fruit, heavily roasted malt, light green oak and a bit of perfume. Flavors are similar with emphasis on acidic vs oily and very sharp dry, dark, bitter chocolate. Bottled Sept 2014. This one may need to sit a bit.

Draft at the Syb Pig. Have had many times but guess I never rated it. Tulip pour was black and thick with a very dark brown two finger head. Some solid lacing throuout. The aroma is dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, vanilla, caramel, roasted malts, leather, and some earth. The taste is up front with the chocolate and roasted malts, then settles into the vanilla and caramel flavors on the back end. It all balances very well together. Almost the body of a milkshake...serious thickness and creamy. FInish is dark chocolate and slight bitterness. Damn good beer as always.

dense beige stable head. coffee coloured. aroma boozy, nuts, bit of garlic, bit of band-aid. taste is liquorice, bitter chocolate, bit of garlic with a long bitter finish. medium body and carbonation. bit of a disapointment, but perhaps this bottle was infected?bottle 65cl / bbf jun-2015
