COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stoutís sophisticated sibling -- Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yetiís already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you canít tame a Yeti? 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

65 cl bottle from 2012. Pours pitch black with a big, extremely long lasting, brown, fluffy beautiful head. Aroma has earthy hops, thatís a little like gasoline or petroleum. Lots of light, roasted malts, mature but dry oak, slight vanilla, milk chocolate, tobacco coffee, toasted malts. Taste has looots of tobacco, cigar. not smoked, but tobacco. Milky chocolate, but not very sweet. Old hops, but not in the earthy way. Ends off really dry, again with this tobacco. Some black pepper and some spice. Seems like a beer for old people, but man i like it too!! Really interesting. Nothing like all other big stouts. And big taste for 9,5% ABV. Such complex beer. Very smooth and balanced, but still extraordinary!

Bottle from ??/11/2012. Pours black with a thick, mocca head. Damn that look! Aromas of lots of oak, big malty notes, milky notes and cocoa. Lots! Dark sweet fruits, earthy hops, slight coffee, sweet tobacco. Taste is very oaky and malty up front, fainted earthy hops, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, slight coffee roast dry bittersweet finish.

Rich dense dark chocolatebottle nose. Rich thick thick glossy brown head. Glossy black in colour too, no viscuous rim. Complex flavours of dense dark chocolate cake like Sachertorte which is also dry with an equally deep and very long bitter end. Medium to full bodied. The oak is well integrated and not at all vanilla. Very very good.

given that my expectations for my first time trying this beer were sky high, it was a very slight disappointment, but still a very good beer. the aroma was enticing (hoppier than expected-as was the taste), but you had to search for it just a bit. it had the caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasted aspects that were expected, but it took the beer reaching 60 degrees before they really came out and the beer peaked. i couldnít taste the oak, but the flavor that was there was very good, if a touch understated. recommended. iíll have to try the regular Yeti to compare. 2/10-revisited, hoppy vanilla oak aroma very nice...up to a 9, from an 8 previously. maybe still my "least" favorite Yeti, but they all rock."

650ml bottle served in a snifter glass. A: Pours a deep oiled black color forming a one finger thing bubbled and creamy beige almost brown head. Low retention and lots of pointy lacings left in the glass. An "island" of medium bubbles remains on the top even after the head is already gone S: Strong roasted malts, chocolate and wood on the nose. Some notes of coffee and vanilla. Licorice and chocolate biscuits. A bit of alcohol can be felt in the very end T: Sweet and roasted upfront. Becomes deliciously bitter quickly. Mainly roast bitterness. Notes of vanilla, licorice and oak. End is bitter and biscuity M: Very creamy and heavy body. Molasses too. Low carbonation and a very smooth mouth sensation. Roasted and bitter aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. Great RIS [ BA Review @ 7/31/2013 ]

pours pitch black with a nice dark tan head with lots of bubble action. Aroma was bourbon, roasted notes, toffee, carmel, coffee-so much here. It almost has that dark lord thing going on. The flavors were out of this world! oak aging is there, but not as heavy as some i have sampled and melded so nicely with the rich coffee like body of this brew. this was an amazing brew that should be sampled by all stouties!

From a bottle shared with sonnycheeba. Pours very dark black/brown with a fizzy tan head. Smells like alcohol, woody, earthy, light chocolate. Tastes like alcohol, roasted malt, light coffee, light chocolate, nutty.

Poured from dmacís sixtel. Pours black with a small creamy mocha colored head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, oak, and booze. Taste of black malts, burnt toast, coffee, leather, oak, and some alcohol burn in the finish.
