troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Nov 5, 2009 [Tap] Pours a golden color with a small amount of white head. Aroma of yeast, sweet malts and typical Belgian spices. Taste is a little rough around the edges. Plenty of apple and pear notes in here, but the spice is somewhat lacking. A citrus finish. Sweet and alcoholic, but the mouthfeel was a bit thin for a proper balance. Seems like the light alcohol burn is the main theme of this beer. It could use some time to mellow out into a better Belgian. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 20, 2009 On tap. Really nice up front, but the aftertaste is so horribly harsh. Ouch. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Sep 7, 2009 On tap. Pours with a fluffy white head over a near clear golden body. Aroma of candi sugar, pear, must, dry breadiness, and some lively spices. Very nice and to style. Taste is Candi sugar, pear, apple brandy, alcohol and must. Some pastry notes. Finishes dry residual sugars and a few fruity esters on the finishes. Dry, alcoholic finish. Really well done. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Aug 18, 2009 On tap at the Freetail Brewery (06/06/09). Gold in color and hazy with a decent sized off-white head. Aroma is of yeast, citrus, malt, and spices. Taste is the same with hints of candy sugar. TopherJackson (26), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 31, 2009 On tap at Flying Saucer Houston, Hazy gold color, Great citrusy aroma. Lemon and some grassy notes with a little hoppy finish. Easy drinking beer that I really wish was released in bottles. WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 30, 2009 Pours a hazy honey gold color. Moderate white head with good retention and lacing. Mild aroma of citrus and wheat. Taste is spicy, with lots of clove and just a slight skunkiness. Dry mouthfeel. Not a great beer, but solid for a smaller brewery. thirdeye11 (405), Texas, USA Jul 17, 2009 (Draught) pours a clear yellow with nice frothy whit head. Ok lacing. Nose is coriander, black pepper, grass and wheat. Taste is alcoholic, black pepper, sweet malt that’s a little too much and bitter hops are a little too much for the style too. Well carbonated and decent weight but overall just a slightly above average tripel. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2009 On tap at Freetail in SA. The smell is sweet and balanced, spices, and some fruits. The look is a clear, golden in color with a nice white head. The taste is sweet fruits, yeast, hidden alcohol, and good.
