2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 drjay44 (1615) - Salida, Colorado, USA - FEB 9, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours a huge fluffy, short lived white head, over a clear, yellow (SRM 3) body....nose is chili, hints of light malts (bread, cereal)....taste is mild chili spice, with attendant heat....mouth feel light, carbonation high. This represents the Chili Beer style fairly well. I would like the Chili to be more nuanced, and less straight heat, and of course the base Pale Lager is totally insipid. BJCP 5/3/7/4/4

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 jhamp9 (167) - Texas, USA - JAN 25, 2012
Pours clear gold no head no lacing. Aroma is chili. Taste is chili. I like chilies but this is equivalent to rating straight chilies. There is no beer present except in appearance.
0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 nevets4433 (302) - - JAN 11, 2012
12 oz. bottle from a shaker. Pours a clear golden lager color with a nasty green pepper in the bottle. No head. This is ugly. Aroma has a nasty lager sweetness with an odd pepper finish. Taste is all spicy pepper in the back of the throat. Not much to speak of in real taste. This stuff is foul. I bought it as a novelty because I like spicy food, but this is just nasty.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 StefanSD (1542) - Lakeside, California, USA - JAN 9, 2012
11 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold color with what looks to be a whole green serrano chili pepper. Minimal white head. The aroma is all chili pepper and nothing else. The taste is also all chili peppers set in a semi sweet malt base. The palate is thin but seems appropriate, the carbonation is low. Finishes long with lingering chili peppers. Overall: This is a very one dimensional beer and if you don’t like hot chili’s your definitely not going to like this. This is a novelty beer, and there is a place in the world for novelty beers. I just noticed this has a best by date 10-2012. Bit of irony that this is "best," could this possibly get nastier than it is. AND, If Cave fucken Creek can put a best by date on their bottles then so can all brewers!
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 jacky (1) - Beverly Hills, California, USA - DEC 30, 2011 does not count
When visiting my friend in Nevada, he always drank this beer and I hated it, but after a while it grew on me and now I’m hooked. It’s a flavor you definitely have to get used to, but once you do you’ll be hooked too. It’s a spicy beer with a distinct taste. the chili is a hybrid of a jalapeno and a milder chili pepper. You need to drink a 12 pack before you get hooked.... Cheers!!
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 nearbeer (2572) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 22, 2011
12 oz. Clear golden with a big green chili and no head. Nose is green chile. Taste is green chile with much more hotness than expected. LIght body is very hot and dry from the chile. Nice waker-upper; but I don’t need a waker-upper anymore.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thetmaxx (383) - West Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Poured from the bottle with the Chille. Aroma is of pickled jalapeno. Flavor is nice, pure jalapeno. You do get the pepper burn down to the gut, but as a bit of a pepper lover its nice. The burning does linger. You gotta try everything once, and you just might like it!
