Bottle. Clear dark yellow/brownish pour with a fleeting white head. Big malt and vinous bouquet. Really mellow with vinous notes dominating. Malt, oak, and vanilla undercurrents. Slight oxidation but not bad at all. It’s certainly not as tart as other batches. Side by side with batch 6 and there is a stark difference.

Shared at Ehren’s backyard bottle share party, holy sh!t, thanks so much! Poured from corked bottle into tulip snifters: hazy golden colour with sudsy white foam and lace. Grainy, tart, sour, earthy, funky, hints of tart cherry, yogurt cultures, sparkling lemonade, kombucha, white wine vinegar. Profoundly earthy, fruity, woodsy, composty. One of the most phenomenol beers I’ve ever tasted. Quite possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

375 ml bottle shared by daknole as part of a full vertical of Beatification. Wow, thanks, Dak! On the pour, they all look the same - pale, somewhat cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma of acetic and lactic acid, grass, wood chips, lemon, dusty funk, cobwebs- beautiful. The flavor is the same, with tons of acidity and sourness. Bright, clean, and sharp. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation. Just incredible, and every batch is so closely matched.

PH1 Bottle shared by Joel at Nook tasting. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose and taste of horseblanket, funk, oak, lemon, white wine and sour funk. Medium body. Held up incredibly well.

Smell of wine barrel, lemon and fruit. Vineous flavor, wine, fruity and held uprridiculously well. Best beat ive ever had by a long shot

Bottle. Hazy golden color, fluffy white head. Aroma of dusty and funky attic, peppery cotrus. Taste is softly sour citrus, grapefruit. Nice complexity and character.

The beer is straw yellow, fairly hazy, small white head. The aroma is barnyard funk, lemons, hay. Sour, funky, delightful. Beatification is one of my favorite wild ales from Russian River, so lining up this vertical was a sublime experience for me. PH1 was slightly more acidic than batch 001. Both very tasty.

Very late in rating but a rating none the less. Corked, 375mL stumpy bottle courtesy of Kook back in 2007 at a tasting night. From lost notes.
Produced a heavy gold, shy of bright and soft for carbonation. Head was flailing at this point,, a mere smear of condensed white surrounding the meniscus. Aroma is very hairy; oily horse mane and hessian notes come through from an aggressive Brettanomyces. It has a vinous twitch, tart fruit, light oak but it is all about the yeast in the nostrils. Tart, sour, all yeast and funk, and sadly bile-like like vomit. How can this aide? There is sour fruit, light citrus, rough hessian and lighter oak notes. It just does!! A strange all junk, no funk, Brett and all other overload. Nicely done!!!!
