COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those of you who don’t know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykaratetime.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

This is my new favorite beer, which says a lot, since I am an Eliot Ness/Yuengling Amber Lager type guy.

Apples and golden raisins forward. Good amount of caramel throughout. Notes of bread, cider, fig, brown sugar and citrus zest. Hints of allspice. Nice creamy texture.

Aroma of red malt, candy sugar, and grape. Dark copper-rubbyish brown with white foam and lace. Rich roast caramel malt flavor with a european hop bitterness that immitates oak charachteristics found in scotch. High viscosity palate, very thick. Overall, extremely solid, very very good.

Bottle. Brown, light hazy. Brown malty, dry raisin sweetness, some leather, old coffin on nose. Med full bodied, nicely balanced. Sweets (sort of dried plums, some figs..), but enough soft bitters to wipe the palate clean. Round, light oily, abv amazingly hidden (guessed it around 6 before checking the bottle). Light doughy, some soft herbs. Pretty nice scotch ale. Good flavours, deceptively easy. Luckily had just one bottle at hand, could’ve easily ruined tomorow with a bunch of these.

12 oz bottle, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. Dark hazy brown, clove and heather aroma. Sweet, not over powered by alcohol, though a bit flat in flavour compared to what I expected. Smokiness is nice

Idiosynkrasie (4372) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 5, 2015
355ml bottle. Hazy, dark chestnut colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Complex malty aroma delivers a plethora of however rather inexplicit flavours, chocolately, nutty, smoked baked apple in cinnamon toffee cherry nougat or so. Taste is dry, minimally sweet, similar (inexplicit) flavours with more weight on chocolate and toffee aspects; soft, creamy palate. Like you can’t taste the wood for the trees (or tree dummies).

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a decent, brownish head. Aroma is dark malt bread, dark malts, some heather honey, fairly dark syrupy. Prune and raisin. Taste is quite sweet with the dark malt bread, syrup, date, prune, some caramel. Surprisingly light, too much so. The light mouthfeel is emphasized by the rather strong carbonation.
