COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every year on the 24th of February, the birthday of "Charles the fifth", the Brewery brews the Gouden Carolus "Cuvee of the Emperor" in a limited quantity and with an eye on the highest quality and tradition. This unique brewing, with only extra fine Belgian hops and with a higher alcohol level, guarantees a better evolution in the time, than the already known Gouden Carolus. This beer, as all our beers, is 100 % natural, with no preservatives, no adjuncts and no chemicals. We bottle it in bottles of 75 cl and closed with a quality cork. Excellent to store several years. Every year the public is invited to assist to the brewing process.
Was 8% abv in 2000-2002, 10% in 2003 and 11% in 2004.

DISCLAIMER: This is a dark beer and the label has a blue diagonal line.

Gyönyörű belga főzet testet öltésének lehetünk tanúi a Cuvée Van De Keizer Blauw pohárba töltését követően, külső jellegzetességei az előzetesen elvárt módon formálódnak tökéletessé, átlátszatlan kólaszínéhez mennyeien krémes habpaplan tojáshéj árnyalata ad kontrasztot.

Pours a nearly opaque ruby red, with a frothy head. Aroma includes notes of liquorice, plum, dates, and rich esters. Tasting notes include robust plum, liquorice, and rich dark fruits. The palate is warming, and hides the alcohol exceptionally well. This is an excellent Belgian!

Very nice and well balanced beer. Sugary/boozy flavours of raisins, plumbs, currants, etc; also brown sugar, sugar, spices, licorice, toffee. Has a nice warming.

pours cloudy/murky dark brownn,. with a nice light beige head, good retention and lacing. loads of brown sugar, candi, loads of spices - cloves, cardamom and other masala spices, sweet licorice too, toffee, estery belgiumness, pepper, warming alcohol - almost like a barrel-aged liquor, including fairly present woodsy/woody notes. average carbonation, medium to full body - big, sweet and slightly astringent semi-sweet grassy-woodsy-spicy finish. enjoyable and complex sipper.

750ml bottle, 2006 vintage. Pours a deep mahogany brown, with a thin brown head. Complex, mature aroma, caramel, candied sugar, chocolate, yeast, nuts, marzipan, faintly phenolic. Semi-sweet, full bodied, mid bitterness, slightly low CO2. The taste reflects the aroma very well, quite mature, very complex and balanced. Lots of dried fruits and earhty notes. Lovely right now, but would probably develop well for another handful of years. (2015-01-04)

0,75 bottle shared with friends at Samo Pivo pub in Belgrade/Serbia, proper glass pairing but sadly everybody was smoking inside and it felt awful! Pours dark brown with a small off-white foam which dissipates fast. Nose: alcohol forward, caramelized sugar. Mouth: highly carbonated, sweet notes of molasses. Overestimated! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
