Bottle - 2006… Clear, very dark lager that is impenetrable to even the Florida sun. Small, creamy, khaki head with fantastic retention. Nice chocolaty aroma, very reminiscent to Southern Tier’s Choklat - I like it. Full-bodied and creamy with barbed carbonation. The flavor is very chocolaty and a little too sweet for my palate – almost cloying - and I have a big-time sweet tooth. The finish is also sweet and chocolaty. Age might have something to do with the complete lack of balance, but either way, this is pretty darned great for a Miller product. Major thanks to Skyview for providing the bottle!

12 oz bottle into a pint glass Aroma is mainly milk chocolate and the flavor is sweet chocolate with a lingering dark chocolate flavor. Really not too bad.

12oz bottle from 2006 thanks to 3Faveryrogue. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Has a fair amount of sediment. Still very well carbonated after three years. Aroma is of cocoa, caramel, malt, and wheat. Taste is of chocolate, caramel, a slight bit of wood, malt, and wheat. Mouthfeel was very light and crisp. Only had the slightest hint of being oxidized. Lingering taste of dry chocolate. Has a lot of drinkability for a chocolate lager. Definitely the best Miller product that has been made.

I probably consumed the last two 4-packs in existence. OK. Maybe theres some more of this floating around, but highly doubtful. REALLY glad I found this gem. $4.99/pk from the local beer museum. Bunker had some, planted someones vomit in my frontroom shortly afterward, and tried destroying the evidence. Bastard. On to the beer..... Vintage 06. Survived time extremely well. 7/10/09. Great pssst. Nice dark pour, and respectable head. This beer smelled perfect. Not so stouty. Chocolate truffle, wafers, swiss miss, hersheys bar. Some lager and maybe a trace of that wheat somewhere. Point well made. Chocolate beer. Flavor and mouth excellent. Crisp finish. Taste is NOTHING like a Southern Tier Choklat or Mokah. Those come off as syrupy chocolate sodas. Way too overpowering to drink a 22 to oneself. THIS is a sessionable chocolate brew. Surprised that this didnt WOO the masses. Wish there was tons more available. Best Miller product ever.

Pours a deep red brown with a thin beige head. No lace. Potent chocolate aroma, specifically of tootsie roll candy. This is a good thing. Flavor is also dominated by the same sweet chocolate elements. Caramel-malty in a cream soda sense. The malts are slightly papery; this is the only offness in this beer. Medium bodied, smooth on the swallow.

(11/3/08) Bottle sample at a tasting in Pizza Port in Carlsbad (thanks whoever). I hope this is the right beer because what I tried just had a hand-made label for some competition. Brown color. Aroma of dark bitter chocolate and cocoa. Sweet flavor of dark chocolate, some malt and caramel notes. Medium-bodied. Like liquid chocolate.

2006 12oz Twist-off. Thanks Sean! Rather vibrant cocoa nib chocolate nose. Bits of dutch liqeur, Irish Creme, and Smores. A bit saccarhin, dusty and reduced, but decent. Pours a mid-brown, chesnut cloud, with a fast fading creamy tan head. Flavor reminds me of alcohol prepackaged hot chocolate, done cold. Liquor-like. This tastes a lot like someone added a bunch of sugar and chocolate liqeur to Seltzer water. I appreciate the carbonation level, but the flavor is a little brash. Wheat lager? I might be able to pick up a touch of that, but I don’t know. Okay, so actually this isn’t terrible. It has flavor, isn’t overly sweet or weird. I can dig that. Probably the best beer I’ll ever have from Miller.
