Quick grab bottle after gym no idea found me another Taru how random and no one has visited in 7 years. Pours pretty yellow which I suppose I cedar influence. Nose is melon hint of cedar. Tastes of honey dew, lychee, cedar, pepper, some vanilla bean. Semi sweet finish plus cedar kick. Alcohol well hidden for price point but I’ll no for sure in morning.

Slightly fishy aroma, with a nice sweetness. Slightly yellow body. Nice taste, slightly less harsh than liquor. Sweet ending.

Bottle shared by maniac. Thanks! Very light aroma of sweet rice and felt. Taste is the same as the aroma but a little more assertive. Pleasantly bitter aftertaste and very smooth overall. Alcohol moderately present, but not astringent. I’ve never gotten into sake but I’ve probably never had one this good, either, so thanks for the education Joe.

Split with maniac, his 1700th, my 1800th. Pale clear gold, quickly dissapating legs. Aroma was a touch of rice, but mostly a very light white wine with a woodsy component and some alcohol. Flavor had rather floral rose perfume notes, followed by a cedar and slightly fusel alcohol finish. My perception of this was essentiall totally different from maniac’s. Interesting stuff though, glad to try it.

Thanks to puzzl for sending this out to me. Crystal clear slightly yellow body with thick broad legs. Light rice, vanilla and a hint of cedar. Clean rice flavor, more vanilla hints and a moderately strong cedar kick in the finish that quickly fades. Medium mouthfeel, thinly syrupy, fully hiding the alcohol present.

Found this in a NYC shop for $10/375ml. Not a bad deal. Pour is really only slightly yellow... I was expecting a good bit darker. Plum, rice, fresh dew in the aroma. Bigger and tastier in the mouth, a near explosion of wood and koji as it enters, finishing fresh and minty with a touch of booze. Cedar in the finish too is a touch rough but is unique and a nice note. Good stuff.
