COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made with the most heavily peated malt in the world from the Bruichladdich distillery. Almost pitch black and opaque, small head. Furiously peated aroma, hiding the malt, licorice and dark chocolate somewhat. Very full bodied, thick mouthfeel, like fluid bread. Dark chocolate, loads of peat, lapsang souchong tea, chocolate cake, culminating in an almost endless aftertaste that also has licorice.
Alcohol varies by batch.

330ml bottle, thanks to Benzai. Never usually give such a high mark, but just took another sip and this really is a special beer. Pours black with thin beige head. Lovely soft smoky, woody aroma. Taste is thick and oily, with silky smooth chocolate and peated notes, subtle liquorice, smoke, bourbon barrel, vanilla, dark chocolate, burnt coffee dregs with bitter ash on the finish. An endlessly enjoyable beer.

The bottle we had was a batch from 16. December 2010, with this Imperial Stout using both amarillo hops and Bruichladdich peated malt. On the nose was roasted caramel, chocolate, balsamic vinegar, caffeination, coffee, cola. It poured with the lightest white head, had gentle carbonation. The taste was a metallic ash, with a tangle of sweetness and bitterness, sour coffee and warming alcohol which was overall a contrasting and intense experience.

nieprzejrzyste, czarne z pi?kn? be?ow?, drobn? pian?. W smaku sporo w?dzono?ci, czekolady, pije si? niezwykle ?atwo. Mog?oby by? bardziej g?ste, wyklejaj?ce, ale z drugiej strony straci?o by wtedy na pijalno?ci. Polecam!

On draught at Gainsbar - Belgium. Deep black pour with a huge pillowy head that leaves a creamy lacing. Aroma is packed with peat smoke, toast, roast along with dark chocolate. What a beauty!

---hemel y aarde from barrel bruichladdich 1972---. Botella de 18 cl numero 1032 de 1776. elaborada en 03-12-2009. embotellado en 07-06-2010. esta y otras dos o tres botellas. Tomada en paco,s en verano de 2011. Imperial stout alucinante.

Dec 2011 bottle. Deep black pour with a huge pillowy head that fades very slowly and leaves creamy lacing. Aroma is packed with peat smoke along with dark bread and dark chocolate. As expected, this tastes like liquid peat smoke. Also, burnt wood, ash, and a hint of dark chocolate. Fairly high carbonation makes it foam up to much in my mouth. Full body, thick mouthfeel. Overall, pretty good beer but just too much peat smoke and too much carb.
