COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned;
Bracia is the Celtic name for a beverage brewed in Iron Age Europe with reference found on a Roman inscription at Haddon Hall,Derbyshire. Little is known about this except it was high in alcohol, brewed with cereals and, most probably, honey. Thornbridge’s Bracia has been infused with a generous amount of dark and bitter Chestnut Honey. This was sourced by Head Brewer Stefano Cossi from Beekeeper Onelia Pin in the Alpine foothills of North East Italy. Aromas are of chestnut, honey, cappuccino, white chocolate, dark fruits, vibrant fresh peel. The mouthfeel is velvety and rich, with notes of coffee, chocolate, liquorice and hazelnuts with warming alcohol, cocoa and a little peat in the finish. Malts: Maris Otter, Brown, Munich, Dark Crystal, Black, Chocolate, Peated and Roasted Barley. Hops: Target, Pioneer, Hallertau Northern Brewer and Sorachi Ace. Bracia can be cellared for up to one year, maybe longer. Its flavours will evolve so why not enjoy the experience of opening a bottle every once in a while.

Bottle at Van Moll, Eindhoven. Deep dark brown color, brown head. Great rich nose and taste with coffee and chocolate, dried fruits, honey, vanilla and bourbon. Incredible lingering aftertaste with sweet coffee and caramel tones. Low carbonation, big body and creamy mouthfeel.

Looks pretty stoutish..black with a small tan head, poured slowly. The lacing is pretty impressive. The smell is big time, umm, roasty, nutty, chocolaty, smell some licorice, coffee..yummy. As bold as the aromas permeating my nosebuds are, the taste takes it up a notch. Hazelnuts and coffee abound, licorice is there but plays a minor role. This is really quite bitter and right at the end, I get a bit of a smoky character. It’s not overly heavy in the body. More like what I’ve seen mentioned...velvety smooth. Spot on carbonation. This just plain blows me away with how good it is and how drinkable it is. At 9% abv, there’s no alcohol in the taste at all. Just a wee bit of warming on a morning, here in Casper, where it’s BLOODY SNOWING and there was no warning. Cheers!

6.12.2013. Täysin musta, ruskea vaahto. Tuoksussa paahteista kahvia. Maussa ensin kermaista pehmeyttä, siirtyy paahteiseen ja leipäiseen, omenaa, keskellä suklaan ja kahvin aromeja, pähkinää. Jälkimaussa karamellia ja kuivaa paahteisuutta.

Huge brown head. Color is deep black. Coffee, hazelnut, caramel aromas. Flavor is the same. Some bitterness. Texture is oily. Carbonation is soft to average. Average to long coffee finish. Well balanced

Pite rok temu. Butelka 0,5. Zapach - ciemne i suszone owoce, karmelowa slodycz, palonosc.

75cl bottle @ the 11th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, Feb 15. Pours deep dark with a plummy aroma. Oily mouthfeel with chestnut honey and ripe plums in the taste.. a touch rubbery. Very nice.

BlackHaddock (4510) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2015
Shared on 17 Feb 15 in Shrewsbury. Almost black colour with a tanned topping, 100ml each. Roasted malts in the nose with dark fruits, semi-sweet dark chocolate and wood esters. The taste followed along the same lines, woody and earthy in equal amounts with an alcohol kick from the first sip. Good body depth and far too easy to drink.

The beer is dark, almost black with generous brown head. Aroma is rich with notes of dark and dried fruits. Lots of toffee, chocolate and burned carmel. Lots of honey in taste. The sweetness is strong and syrupy. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. The beer makes me think about a Stout with strong honey flavors. Still different and of the kind. Delicious but difficult to drink.
