This is our Haiku Trippel that was aged in a cabernet barrel from Kunde Estate Winery, an organic winery in Sonoma, CA. It is a Belgian-style top fermented ale. Golden in color, medium in body, it has a crisp finish. Flavors of lemon, citrus, honey, apple and honey suckle develop in intensity as the beer matures. The barrel aging process added layers of oak, vanilla, and, of course, the cabernet wi ne notes shine through creating something completely new and unique. The aroma is a wonderful medley of cabernet, beer and oak.
Grain: German Pilsner malt, Vienna, Wheat, Biscuit malt
Hops: German Tettnang, Czech Saaz
We make our own Belgian candi sugar and add it to the kettle
