Description:
This dark brown Belgian-style strong ale has been aging for 6 months in a sour merlot barrel. AT 9.5% ABV, this complex ale hits the palette with a pleasant tartness, woody tannins, and a hint of dark caramel. The Dirty Dark truly shows the magic of the barrel. Before touching the wood, this beer was malty, sweet and slightly heavy on the palate. After undergoing a re-fermentation in the barrel, the result is a dry, sour, ale that lends just a hint of its sweet malty past.
