Originally brewed by Samuel Webster in the Fountain Head Brewery in Halifax. Brewed at John Smiths from 1996. In 2003, the Websters brands were acquired by a company called Silvan Brands, about whom it has proved impossible to obtain any information other than that their registered office is in Edinburgh. The beers have been brewed under contract at Thomas Hardy Burtonwood since 2004.
