Description:
This brew is as red and quirky as the local transportation from which it draws its name. The Kawakawa, with its heart shaped, hole covered leaves has traditionally been used to make a ’cure all’ tonic. Found sprouting in profusion alongside the cable car’s tracks the leaves are infused in the boil, lending the beer a unique, sweet pepper and spice aroma, and a distinctive bitterness balanced by the rich, red sweetness of Munich, Melanoidin and caramel malts.
