Bull City Blind Boy Fuller Black IPA (BIPA)

Brewer: Bull City Burger and Brewery

Alcohol Content: 7%
Seasonal: Special

Description:
Life is funny. We say things like jumbo shrimp, original copy, virtual reality and only choice. Well, now you can add black pale ale to that list. Made popular on the west coast of the US, Black India Pale Ale is a dark and very hoppy beer. Brewed very much like a regular IPA, brewers use a little black malt to darken the color. Not particularly roasty or bitter like a stout, the BIPA is simply a dark version of an IPA. We name ours after Blind Boy Fuller, American Blues guitarist and singer born in 1907. Blind Boy Fuller began to lose his eyesight in his teens and turned to guitar and signing. He recorded over 120 record sides and is honored around Durham with two historic markers. Among his recordings were “I want some of your pie,” and “Get your Yas Yas Out” which was later recorded by the Rolling Stones. He died in 1941 at his home in Durham. A true blues legend known for his finger picking style and playing a National brand steel guitar. Hops Used: Northern Brewer, Zythos
