A traditional copper coloured best bitter. Barnsley bitter is brewed from finest Pale Ale and Crystal Malts from Norfolk, Invert Sugar and Hopped with the Hereford and Worcester varieties Fuggles and Goldings. When matured for a week and a half in cask with added priming sugar, the resulting pint is creamy and malty with a pronounced bitterness level balanced by a sweet undercurrent. The Goldings provide hop aroma and the famous Oakwell Yeast strain imparts bags of yeast character. This is not a one-dimensional drink but a complex blend of finely balanced flavours, which leaves you wanting the next pint before you’ve finished the one you’re on.
