RateBeer.com -- Correct Blanche Des MoinesBlanche Des Moines

Description:
Previously brewed at DuBocq (Nov 2013)

Blanche Des Moines is brewed on 60% pilsener malt and 40% unmalted wheat. In spite of a close affinity to the Flemish witbiers this is somewhat different. It is brewed with a higher proportion of unmalted wheat which adds even more of the special, wheaty notes that are so characteristic for the style. Naturally the beer has been added coriander and dried orange peel. Furthermore an extract of licorice root has been added. Primary fermentation is with a classical Witbier yeast and the beer is bottle fermented. [Waterloo brewery’s rights bought by John Martin as of Nov 22nd 2013; include Waterloo beers, Blanche des Moines and Brussels Fruit Beers]
Brewer: John Martin (Scottish & Newcastle)
Style: Belgian White (Witbier)
Alcohol Content: 4.5%
