Old Familiar Barley Wine is our latest foray into the big beer category. Clocking in at 8.3%, its a great smooth sipping beer. Old Familiar is an authentic barley wine made from malt like all beer, but with the alcoholic strength of a wine. Its malty body is nicely balanced with English northern brewer hops added to the boil and an extra hop addition of kent goldings in the fermenter. This limited edition strong beer will be served only in a 12 oz glass at Carolina Brewery.
