Bar/Restaurant Partners

The J. Clyde is well known in Birmingham for their craft beer selections and food pairings in a unique setting on Cobb Lane. They are famous for securing and featuring some pretty special brews locally and beyond. This year Jerry Hartley, a local craft beer celebrity and owner of The J. Clyde, has arranged with brewery friends around the state to brew five exclusive casks to show off at their Beer Garden table. He will also showcase the restaurant’s famous fried sauerkraut balls, and possibly a new recipe he perfected during the World Cup. Jerry was instrumental in the craft beer movement in Birmingham, so we are ecstatic to have his expertise and discerning palette join us again this year.

Moss Rock Festival welcomes Vecchia Pizzeria & Mercato as a festival co-sponsor of Beer Garden this year! Vecchia specializes in authentic brick oven pizzas, including gluten free options so that everyone can enjoy. Local produce and imported Italian toppings show their commitment and passion for the very best in everything they do. They’ve also got a variety of pasta dishes, panini sandwiches, salads, and delicious desserts! Vecchia’s drink menu has options for dining in or carryout. Their craft beer selection includes 18 on tap, and over 50 bottled varieties, which make their participation at Beer Garden a no brainer. They’ve even got growlers!

Wine Partner

Whole Foods Market will be showcasing wines to taste from the diverse offerings they carry. A formidable group of Team Members at WFM — think of them as your very own wine superheroes — scour the world’s vineyards to bring you the fruits of the most talented winemakers’ labors. They’re always on the lookout for sustainable vineyard practices and organic and biodynamic wines, too. So the next time you’re in their wine department, stop one of their Team Members, many of whom are full-fledged sommeliers, and hit them up for answers. Are they snobbish about wine? No way! Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned sipper, they’ll love you just the same. In fact, every Whole Foods Market store that sells wine offers wine classes where grapes, tastings and pairings are discussed — over a glass of wine, of course.

Talks, Tastings, Pairings & Demos

Trevor Newberry, beer connoisseur, occasional beer columnist for Birmingham Magazine, and general manager & chef at Urban Standard, will be one of the features at the event’s Talks, Tastings, Pairings & Demos.

This year we are excited to feature local beer experts to the Beer Garden for a homebrewing demonstration at both Saturday sessions. Since November 1 is also the 15th Annual Learn to Homebrew Day, this should be a special opportunity to see beer craft up close.
