Brewers by the Bay Film - San Francisco Beer Film World Wide Premiere!

Details

A San Francisco Beer Film
The history of brewing beer in San Francisco dates back to 1847, just three years before California became incorporated and just one year short of the gold rush. Once known as the brewing capitol west of the Mississippi with over 44 breweries at one time, we learn how large consolidations, the earthquake and great fire of 1906, World War 1, and prohibition consolidated the industry to just a small handful of large industrial breweries within San Francisco.

Now, many years later, the dust has settled and we have entered the craft brew era started by none other than Fritz Maytag, prior owner of the legendary Anchor Brewing Co. of San Francisco. Join host Brenden Dobel, Brewmaster of ThirstyBear Brewing Co., as he meets the original members of the San Francisco Brewers Guild, the group that inspired the current generation of brewers in San Francisco Brenden Dobel will travel from brewpub to brewery, meeting owners and brewers as he discusses this city’s past, present and future liquid gold crafted by the Brewers by the Bay.

The Event - Film and Beer Fest
The premiere weekend will feature four events. The grand premiere will be on Friday, May 20, 2016, and the following day will have three additional viewings. Each viewing will be limited to 300 occupants and will last about three hours. Each event will have a viewing of the film followed by a beer festival where you will have the opportunity to taste the beers from all of the breweries that we interviewed in Brewers by the Bay, along with some of the latest brews created by some of the newcomers from the brewing community that have recently opened as well as raffles to win even more beer swag by San Francisco breweries.
