Gents (and ladies), I will be back in Brisbane over Christmas and was looking for Aussie beer recommendations that have been released this year or late last year. Any style and any brewery - even the majors, if something wow’ed you.

Cheers in advance!

No idea on distro in Briddy but most of the Modus Operandi stuff I have had so far has been rockin’. Otherwise a lot of the special released stuff from Feral is always cracking! I think Scratch bar is doing some epic sour tap takeover early December so look into that

Much appreciated mate - modus operandi has not been on my radar. Will look for it!

I don’t think Modus are packaging, but perhaps someone will get you a litre can growler. They have arrived very much fully formed.

You gave Bridge Rd’s B2 Bomber 3.6 and complained it was around $30. I gave it 3.7. The latest incarnation (Mach 4) is again around $30. I gave it 4.4, which puts it in my top dozen beers.

La Sirene has a bunch of good beers, mostly saisons.

There’s lots of new stuff in bottles from Nail.

Red Duck’s Sabotage is very good (as is their Transmission porter).

Barrel aged stuff - Red Hill’s Gin Barrel Temptation is very good, as Boatrocker’s Ramjet Whisky barrel IS and 3 Raven’s PX Barrel Druid.

Mmmmm Kaiju doing wonderful stuff.

That B Rd Mach 4 was sensational though. One of the best aussie beers of this year

Will be looking for MO, La Sirene, and Kaiju I think. Hopefully can source some Thorogoods bottles too. Thanks for the thoughts.

Hey Jonno,

Batch brewing in Sydney is doing some good stuff. Mosaic IPA is quite good, did not get to try the West Coast IPA they did. Fortitude brewing, west of Brisbane is doing good stuff. That is Ian (ex Murray’s as brewer). Copycat IPA is good. Kaiju is good fresh but goes south pretty quick. I am not a fan of la sirene as all I have had from them have been overcharged as all heck.

Modus is the deal. Plain and simple. Former Tenant and Zoo Feeder are the two best beers in the country right now. Send me a message and we can sort something out.
