Aimed at you Bermondsey regulars. Is the Kernel Brewery Tap still operating on a Saturday? |

Open for bottle purchases only |
Cheers. I have closed it on here as a Brewery tap then. We may need a new ’place’ if we want to add it just as a bottle shop. |
Could we just have it as open for bottles only? I don’t see the point of adding a new place. |
There is a note in the brewery’s place entry that notes they now only offer bottles for take-away; I believe that is sufficient enough to reflect the change. The brewery has never ’closed’. They have modified their offering, but that doesn’t mean we should create a new place for them. The entry is just called Kernel Brewery, and is classified as such. |
Yeah, the way breweries are handled as places is a bit confusing. Breweries only get added as places if there are some visitor facilities. It’s arguable that, if a brewery has visitor facilities that fall into more than one category, they should be listed separately. Especially as you can’t assign a place to multipe categories. If Kernel weren’t even selling bottles now you’d have to "close" it a a place listing. Perhaps some different terminology is required? "Out Of Business" is not really appropriate. |
I agree, but this would appear in the top 10 of English places and people going on the basis of that would then only find a brewery that sells bottles. All the ratings are for somewhere that you could go in and sit a nd drink and not many will change their ratings accordingly. We will be recommending on false pretences. |
Yes, I see your point. I’d be tempted to have two listings. |
