When are we thinking? As the Summer Gathering’s in July, how about some time in August?
|
Late August is currently pretty wide open for me. September looks a little busy but could also work for the right weekend. Any later than that and I guess it would officially be a fall tasting.

I believe its my turn. I’m thinking that August should do fine. Are there any dates that anyone can not do? How about a ’I fucking LOVE/HATE this beer/mead/wine/spirit’ theme, bring the thing you love/hate and share it. (MBP is welcomed!) At some point we are going to have to rename theses things from tastings to something a bit closer to what they actually are. :) Dan I’ll have some of the Avery island straight mead for you to taste but you will have to ignore the bandaid in the nose and front. I wonder if italarican http://www.ratebeer.com/user/80792/ will be here by then. I believe it would be a bit of a drive, but.....

Italarican and I will be moving up in the first week of August.

Eugene, I do have to admit that I like where you’re going with this. I wouldnt mind bringing some classics, one of which we think is highly overrated, and 1 of which we think is underappreciated. Doing something blind again would be fun, just not to the crazy volume we did with the stouts. Also, regarding MBP, co sidering thwyve pulled it out twice since the release already, Im hoping/thinking they might have it on for the gathering, so I would suggest notissing that.

The stout thing was nutz. Each could bring one love/hate and then as usual, whatever else. I haven’t been shopping for a while so I’d be limited. I’m pretty sure a couple of you guys could guess what I would bring as my love. That one acetone influenced beer we had at my last hosting would be on my hate list, though I did finish my glass and pour a bit more.

Dates I cannot do: Aug 6 Aug 20

The Love/Hate idea is a good one, as long as the beers that we hate are well made beers that we just don’t care for. The thought of drinking a bunch of poorly made beers with possible off-flavors does not give me a rise in my Levi’s.

Weekends of Aug 13-14 and Aug 27-28 both work for me. I would have to think a while on a love/hate combo but sounds like a good idea.

Don’t focus so much on the hate part, I doubt many of us have beers on hand we hate. Dan and James said it better then I did. And the Love/Hate is only a small portion of the tasting, we can just bring one or the other, or if your lost just bring your self and a MBP and all will be forgiven. After I thought about the love/hate think I went to the cellar and could not find one I hate, so I have to do a little searching as well.
