he grand old man of web beer tourism hit our shores recently - a good read:

http://www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/sydney

check out the grouphug picture with rauchbier and duff!
he gives a very good review to The Lord Nelson (whose beers have improved 100% lately IMO) - i guess it’s only natural he’d like all the olde Brit imperiana cluttering the place.
and duff managed to convince him to make the trek all the way out to paddys - wonder if the lingerie waitresses were on!

He has put us Sydneysiders to shame with the depth of information and commitment to accuracy.

Good to hear the Lord Nelson is improving. I have had a soft spot for 3 sheets since it was first introduced.

kook 2033:34 Good on you duff!

I was hoping to go on the Zythos tour with JW but I didnt book in time, and I doubt I’d be able to get any time off work. The Bamberg hunt is now booked too! :(

witbier Although described as "The grand old man of web beer tourism" above - well, I will be sixty on the 15th of May - I plan to be running Beer Hunts for many years to come. In particular, I will be doing one to the Zythos Beer Festival each year, and one based in Bamberg. The latter in 2006 will be at the time of the first tapping of the Urbock in the Schlenkerla. The dates for this and all my Beer Hunts will be given onhttp://www.whitebeertravels.com/future . 2/25/2005 8:45:08 AM

witbier I didn’t take offence; indeed found it amusing; I now report your words on my site. A bit of a wake up call, reminding me that indeed, this year is the year of the big Six O. Glad you liked my Web page on Sydney. Thanks to everyone else, for your kind remarks; they are most encouraging, i.e they drive me to more Beer Hunting - someone has to do it, as Michael Jackson says.

Regards and Cheers!

John White.

Yeah I certainly didn’t intend any offence either - Paddy’s is just an amusing place all around, though my girlfriend didn’t think so...
