I am still deciding on what styles I want to go with. None of the beers I would drink if I had my optimal selection are here, so I am still undecided on what route to go.
We drank a fair amount for Thanksgiving last year, so I’m toning it down a bit this time. A dry Prosecco as an apertif, followed by Ommegeddon for the main courses.
I’ll be driving around like mad on Thanksgiving day (boo to having to visit 3 seperate houses!) so I’ll be keeping it rather low-key. I think I’ll bring a bottle of Panil to enjoy at my parent’s and then I’ll have to wait until I get home to crack something special (a bottle of Olde School perhaps?)
last year my uncles were blown away with yulesmith and speedway. this year they are going to be blown away by Alesmith decandence 2006, Grad Cru, Lost Abbey Angel’s Share, Cuvee de Tomme, Stone RIS, Alpine Ichabod, and black Lightning porter.
Doesn’t everyone wish they had a nephew from San Diego?
I’ll probably drink miller genuine draft if anything. I’m going to be sharing stuff with relatives tonight when I get into town though thanks to a few generous trades with beachbum25 and Bockyhorsey that just came in. Thanks guys!
Thanksgiving Eve here in Brussels, we’re off to Germany tomorrow, and my wife and I set up this informal degustation for ourselves tonight:
Orval (one year old)
Kloeke Blonde
De Ranke Pere Noel
Duck Rabbit Porter
St. Bernardus 12 (one year old)
The plan was to close out with a bottle from the latest batch of Stille Nacht, but alas she’s already passed out. I’m following her, soon as I get these pumpkin pies out of the oven...
